Putting Sports Before People

I've read many an article about the protests surrounding the torch run by the Chinese goverment building up to the Olympic games. What intrigues me is how anyone can say that we need to not get politics involved and protect the "spirit" of the games. I was unaware that a global sporting event was more important then people's rights and lives... What a fucked up concept
